Jokers

As soon as I watched the new Joker trailer with Joaquin Phoenix I was stunned. This is the best portrayal of Joker since King Heath himself. Today is April 4th which turned out THE BIRTHDAY of Heath Ledger. I just realized they dropped the trailer on his Birthday. Which I thought was a perfect way to draw a tribute to the Greatest Villain in history of cinema portrayed by 3 Kings: Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger and now, Joaquin Phoenix. My first attempt at drawing Joker too by the way. Was really fun painting them.

The idea of them holding knifes came at the last second when I didn't know what to do with the other hand of each of them. They idea of the painting was supposed to be a happy Joker Reunion. They're partying, having fun, but something was missing. And then I decided to add a hidden knife to Joaquin there on the right and cover it with shadows. Then I thought that adding knife to all 3 of them was a final perfect touch for the painting. And now I just love it.
